We often focus on improving the working relationship between leaders, direct reports and peers at all organizational levels. As a consequence quality, openness, sensibility and flexibility of organizational leadership are established by the process.
Majority of our work is centred to achieve healthy change. So we put in place safe environment for change. Change happens around boundaries. It may be structural change when team member is reassigned; when different criteria to assess achieved goals and employee performance are introduced; change happens when standards of acceptable behaviours in contact with clients are higher and more. It may be perceived as personal decision, especially for leaders.
It is when nobody really cares. When most people in organization pretend that they do some important assessments, but at the same time they might be aware there are no significant consequences.
When all energy invested in regular implementation of pay system, its rules and actions and frequently tiresome workflow have nothing but minor effect on behaviour of members and there is no encouraging or stimulating responds you can conclude change is needed.
Why? Because an organization, as described above, has no infrastructure to manage change. The need for change and to adopt it will naturally appear at least by external pressure (competitors) or by internal forces (low performance or productivity).
